| The PBS (Personal Budget Schedule), is the second of Bluestar
Financial Software's applications. To compliment Bluestar's
earlier application, the Personal Financial Statement (personal
balance sheet), is this easy to use income & expense tracking
model (personal income statement). In contrast to the "snapshot
in time" Personal Financial Statement, this model will serve
to compare time intervals for your income and expenses. Additionally,
it can properly set and track your personal budget. Want to
know what months your expenses actually exceeded your income?
Want to compare your entertainment expenses to prior months?
Was the budget you set too conservative or too lax for your
expense habits ? How much did you go over or under your budget
each month? After easy inputting of your income and expenses,
your questions will be answered with easy to read charts, graphs
and statistical comparisons. When used, the PBS will define
your income and expense habits, helping you organize for your
financial objectives. |
- "Information" guide: The software comes
with a detailed "Information" guide that walks you through
completing the model. Although many jump right into using
the model without reviewing this guide, it is readily available
should you have any model questions at all. If the guide
does not answer all of your questions, email our support
team for a fast response.
- This model was written in HTML & MS EXCEL; applications that you and your computer
can adapt to and interface with comfortably.
- The PBS allows a convenient, professional means of organizing and compiling
your income, expenses and budget. This organization will allow you to
truly understand your spending habits in effort to maximize income and minimize
expenses.
- Easy Navigation, Saving & Printing. With Options Boxes (bottom
left) and buttons (bottom right), the User is able to navigate, save and print
within the entire model with the simple click of a button. This will allow easy
referencing to prior months and to the charts and graphs for quick analysis.

- After simple inputting of your income, expenses and budget,
the PBS will take care of the rest, offering you easy
to read charts, graphs and statistical comparisons (examples
below). No matter how in depth you wish to analyze your income
and expenses, this PBS has you covered.

- Comments. The PBS provides easy to read
comments throughout the model, guiding you in completing
the PBS as well as comments explaining what the statistics
represent (such as " % of expenses " in the table directly
above). This way, you understand exactly what is being analyed
in the charts and graphs, and why it is a relevant statistic.

Step 1 of 3 (Choose Expense Categories): When
you open your PBS for the first time, you will be brought to
the Legend. Click the "Start" button from the Legend.

Next, you will be brought to your first expense category. An
example is pre-filled for you, as "Groceries" (but you are
encouraged to change each expense category to match your spending
habits). Note that the first two expense categories should
be the most active in a month, while the latter expense categories
should be slightly less active (making the inputting faster
and easier for you).
Step 2 of 3 (Enter Your Budget): When you
have entered your expense categories, it is time to enter your
first month's budget. Each month, enter a budget for every
expense category. It is recommended to only enter your budget
before the upcoming month (instead of setting your budget months
in advance), but feel free to do whatever is best for your
situation. You can always go back and re-enter your budget
if necessary.
Step 3 of 3 (Enter Your Expenses): After you
have entered your expense categories and entered in your next
month's budget, your PBS is ready for you to begin entering
in individual expenses broken down by month. The PBS's charts,
graphs & statistics will now be updated each time you enter
your monthly income and expenses. So, feel free to navigate
to all pages of the PBS to review your financial condition.
Make it fun!
